Kalapani Museum

Kalapani Museum, situated at Garacharma in Port Blair, is India's first private museum dedicated exclusively to the history of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Spanning three spacious floors, this meticulously curated museum uses life-size dioramas, 3D models, rare photographs, original colonial documents, and interactive audio-visual displays to tell the story of the archipelago. Key exhibits detail the tribal history of Andaman, British colonial penal settlement, Japanese occupation during WWII (1942-1945), Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's historic visit, freedom fighters' solitary confinement, and the post-independence resettlement of refugees.
