📜 Overview & History of Kalipur Beach

Kalipur Beach is world-famous as the primary sea turtle nesting ground in Andaman & Nicobar. It is the only beach in the archipelago where four species of endangered marine turtles—Olive Ridley, Green Turtle, Hawksbill, and Leatherback—come ashore to lay eggs between November and March. The beach features volcanic grey sand facing Saddle Peak mountain and open sea. Kalipur Beach is also famous for jellyfish-free coral reef snorkeling right off the coast near Craggy Island.
